i did not approve. i inveighed against this rigid world with its carapaces of codes of conduct- hard, unwavering.i was all in favor of grays and had lobbied strongly against the black and white option because i’m all for freedom of choice and for people to be genuine and express themselves freely. but he said one gets skin only if one is black and white with plenty of green to draw and allure. so, he wanted to be a hot-shot lawyer!
p.s: this is not intended to be a vituperative invective against the legal profession. and i think it’s possible to caricature just about every profession viciously if one so chooses. this should be taken only as a very jaundiced, deliberately prejudiced and highly momentary look at a time-honoured profession. or, perhaps, the unconcealed envy of someone who wishes she were a lawyer too
