to be fifteen again

To be fifteen again,

They flew  down, leaving  husbands  behind,

Chores forgotten,  leaves of absence  in  place.

To be fifteen again,

They dressed up in the gay colours of girlhood,

Shrieked with abandon, giggled and ogled!

To be fifteen again,

They met their teacher and happily collapsed

Into each other’s arms at her candid questions.

To be fifteen again,

They traded insults and laughed without reason,

Fought over old flames and drooled over ice-creams.

To be fifteen again,

They ran around the school ground,

Reliving those days of sun and sand, grime and games.

Years shed and alive once more,

They flew back, to wear again, cloaks of age, poise and care.

p.s(or perhaps, this should be called the ante script): here’s to us- v, n, a,s, me and h(missed very much)!

Captures the spirit of blissful abandon . Notice how years appear to roll back when old friends meet and you regress to the exact ages you were, when you were together as friends ?
