Bitter Chocolate

Love and devotion-

it’s a candi(e)d emotion;

a one-act play-

complete with falsetto tones

and staccato faces.

The script’s rigid:

sway and you’ll be swapped

for a better player on a better day.

D(r)ip and d(r)own

this saccharine sweet love;

Dapper and proper

and pretty too, here;

Elaborate and expensive

-a ti(r)ed ceremony if you please.

Ringed and Fenced

And if you get tired

you can always be you

and watch the act from the sidelines.
