Code Red

SHe couldn’t sleep. So, there she was, in front of her smudged bathroom mirror, running her hands through her rumpled hair when she noticed it. There was no mistaking the deep, bright red. By god, what had she done? But she was a subdued, muted person, wasn’t she? How did she have the guts to do something like this? But there it was- the blood red nail-paint that jarred her senses.
