palm me

leaning in to taste the salt

sprinkled atop the splashy spray

finding its way to the top

of my green-brown bows,

and oozing down my many greyish ridges,

down, all the way down

to the grass blades growing

at my feet,

i love the balmy summer,

holding palmy me

in its elongated twilight.
