lotus and the sun

swaying ever so slightly

in his ambient light,

my yellow-pink self

looking up, erect,

reaching across

a thousand light years

to feel his warm, luminescent self,

i eagerly bob about,

forgetting for a moment

my placid green buddies,

my timid little buds,

my ever-reflective peer,

water, oh dear

and uh-oh, like i’m drunk on the sunny seer,

the dirt beneath my feet.

Nice imagery. Years back, G. Shankara Kurup had written about an imaginary conversation between the Sun and a sunflower, starting with the Sun asking ” aaru nee anujathee ? “. Your poem almost reads like a reply to the Sun .
