Baby Blue

water swells

and wells up,

barely contained

by the blue-black

on your banks.

shall i dwell

on the centre of the pool,

the aqua-blue circle

and its pitch-black dot?

or shall i draw closer

to the well?

well, is it?

or better still, swell? yes?

will it help

if i dwell too

on the source of that fragile fountain,

on water and blue and aquamarine you?

will that hold the banks dry

and ready to crinkle

in happy wide stretches?
