A quiet resonance

Eternal Love Locks, Pont de l’Archevêché, photo by SusanOf gates and locks,

of steel and stubborn levers

that refused to be moved,

you knew nothing,

cruise as you did

in the warm, warm currents beyond

the enmeshed gates

and my brittle agates.

Each answering thought of yours

crimped into the folds of my arched questions,

each leading us

beyond the difficult waves

and quivers

to a calm, placid land

where time chimed

only to tell us

of the miles we had amassed.

You didn’t lead me

nor I, you;

it was the inter-lock that did

make our way

to a quiet resonance.

If this is fate leading two people in quiet resonance, beyond the difficult waves, then good for them ~ And that is an intriguing picture, of locks in the fences ~

  2. Helen says:

Love as an interlock … very nice.

  3. I like the last stanza – how neither was leading, but you went together!

  4. So beautiful…I love how you summed it up…with neither leading…together your found your way.

  5. Beautiful post and photo!

  6. Judy Roney says:

Inter-lock is the best of all worlds. Love no one leading or following. 🙂
