i see you
in the ocean-blue of a tranquil sea,
the gorgeous green of new new leaves,
the jet black of my mother’s hair,
the faint down on a baby neck.
i see you
in bristly mascara-fed lashes,
lissome legs, laces and lilac dresses,
in my eye as i hope and dream
of a day yet to come.
i see you
in apple pie crumbly
and sticking to a ruddy cheek,
the plump grapes resting in my wicker basket,
the gaudy pink of my plastic flower
that smiles at me out my first floor window.
why do i still feel
i don’t see you often enough,
as much as i would like?
come see me when you’ve time.

Sometimes when you really care about someone It feels like there’s never enough time together. Great job with this.
🙂 true, Deana. To tell you the truth, that was an underlying theme that crept in w/o my realizing it. Very astute observation 🙂
It is a gift to really see someone or something and be seen in return.
