Flowers in Violet by Kim Nelson

Flowers in Violet by Kim Nelson

violet ground

and cyan dust,

the fading silhouettes

of flowers past,

we flutter to the dust

in a heap of pale yellow

weathered petals

and memories of a violet spring.

This is gorgeous! I love the way you play off the image (an encaustic in which I actually embedded flowers from my garden.)

Fits the image and I like how you’ve used ‘weathered’ instead of ‘withered’. Conveys a different image altogether.
